Mike Watts

Mike Watts is a Freelance Outdoor Writer and Publisher of RiversandFeathers.com https://riversandfeathers.com/. In addition to publishing magazine articles, he also writes a fly fishing blog on the website. https://riversandfeathers.com/author/mike-watts/

Mike has been fly fishing and chasing fish in the Southern Appalachians and beyond for over 47 years! His blog may contain tall tales, stories, and advice about fly-fishing. Mike earned his gray hair and is teaching the next generation how to relax, unwind and learn the fine art and poetry of fly-fishing.

This fly-fishing fanatic had a successful career in the environmental consulting services and transportation industry. He retired to spend more time with his family, fly fishing, teaching others and sharing tips, wisdom and writing stories, quotes, advice, and just being outdoors.

Since 2004 Mike has taught fly fishing part-time at Clemson University under the Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department/Leisure Skills. Students receive one credit hour for course completion. During this time he has introduced more than 1000 students to fly fishing.
